Isabella Denisulk
On July 1, 2009, we heard the words, "your daughter has CANCER." Not just cancer, a rare form for which there is no cure. Isabella was 2 and a half years old with a massive, inoperable Neuroblastoma tumor. Her "chance" of surviving 5 years was 30% ! We sobbed and searched for better options which led us to the amazing physicians at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Their dedication to find a cure for this horrifying disease unveiled a treatment that increased survival to over 77%. Bella immediately began high dose chemotherapy, followed by a very complicated surgery and 28 radiation treatments. At completion, she began the antibody therapy that would save her. After two cycles, she had a severe allergic reaction that almost took her life, until Jesus carried her back to us!
Today, Isabella is an enthusiastic 4 year old waiting for the development of new treatment to keep her in remission. We are blessed to have today and trust tomorrow brings health and a CURE!
Thank you for reading and please keep our children in your prayers.
Love,
Diana
